About me

This is (supposed to be) my me page. The one where I dump facts about… me.

Hello! I am… 🧑

Oh noes! I got stuck already.

Who am I? What am I? Why are we here?

Ok, I’ll try to leave existential questions aside, for once.

The Naming of Me(ow) 😺️

Like cats from T.S. Eliot’s famous poem, I too have “THREE DIFFERENT NAMES”.

My everyday name is Michele (roughly pronounced Mee-KEH-leh), the Italian version of Michael. And then there’s a plethora of nicknames to go with it.

By now, I’ve come to terms with having my name misspelled – and, of course, with disappointing those who assume I’m a hot French gal. Oh, well. 🤷️

That’s why in international settings I usually introduce myself as Mick or Mike.

One thing I like about my name is that it comes in many flavours: Miguel, Michał, Mihai, Мишо (Misho), Μιχάλης (Michális), Михаи́л (Mikhaíl), מִיכָאֵל (Mikha’el)

So, feel free to use your favourite cultural variation, or you can also come up with your own nickname. Just make sure I know you’re referring to me! 😂️

I also go by Kelo, although very few people know it. That’s my peculiar name.

(Not to mention several present and past pseudonyms for blogs/forums/etc.)

As for my singular name – “THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.”

And that’s also why I may look absent-minded, from time to time.

When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular name.

…and here’s how I look like 🙈️

Now that you know my name(s), let’s put a face (or more) to it.

This was me at my peak cuteness, when I was a lovely and beautiful child:

A baby monkey with big eyes and a sweet smile.

Jokes apart, you can meet Lolabu (on bonobos.org)! He’s a cutie pie, isn’t he?

This was me a long hair ago, when I was still a young and handsome bloke:

Photo of me playing a classical guitar with a rapt countenance.

And this was me quite recently, less handsome but happier (and hippier):

Photo of me with little hair and much smile.

Where’s Mick? 🌍️

As you might’ve noticed, among my many names there’s no Wally (nor Waldo).

As a matter of fact, I usually try to steer clear of big crowds.

Also, I don’t do social media. But I do exist – or do I? 🤔️

Whoops! No existential questions. 🤐

Online presence

You can find me at:

Physical location

It changes every time I move – see what I did there? 😜️

Seriously, though. That’s why I included my whereabouts in my now page.

Anyhow, here’s some background information:

On the one hand, I’m lucky to feel at home in so many places. On the other hand, I haven’t yet found a place I’d really call home. I wonder if I ever will. 🙂️

More Coming Soon™ 🪄️

I’ll expand this page, slowly but surely.

Sooner or later, you know. One day, maybe. No hurry.

To be fair, that’s not quite in my top 42 priorities right now.

Boy, that escalated quickly!

So, when?

Can’t really say.

(If you have watched Interstate 60, you know I’m quoting Ray here.)

It’ll take longer than we expect, as per Hofstadter’s Law: “It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter’s Law.”

But hey, I’ll do it when I do it!

Till then, if there’s anything you’d like to know, feel free to reach out! 😊️ 🌞️ 🍀️
